This is another shot taken by hand (no tripod) with almost exactly the same settings as the shot that generated a black square — still at 1/8s and f/5.8, only this time I've told the sensor to treat the shot as if I were shooting on ISO3200 film. The statue is clearly visible now, though the scene is still quite dark. This shot has enough information in it that the darkness can be mostly corrected without significant noise or loss of detail (compare with the corrected black square).
