This is the cat of a friend of an old friend. We watched each other from opposite ends of this staircase for a while, with me trying to line up a decent shot with a poor camera. She really wanted to go downstairs, but didn't want to get near the stranger (me), so she eventually just decided to make a run for it. I snapped a shot blindly and got lucky.
