Back in March of 2003, Kevin Drum started the fine tradition of Friday Cat Blogging. The general idea is that if you have a new picture of a cat for that week, you post it on Friday, providing stress relief and bringing together duelling commentators over their one common belief: cats are really nifty. It's generally been hard for me to do this, since the cat I'm most connected to is a few thousand miles away, but I did get a wary visitor shortly after midnight Friday.
I'm technically posting this shortly after Friday has ended, but the picture was actually taken on Friday (almost exactly 24 hours ago now, actually), so I'm claiming it still counts.
There is actually a site that does nothing but compile links to Friday Cat Blogging, but I'll make a special point of linking back to Kevin Drum's entry for this week, which in addition to being an interesting picture, makes the amusing (if overly optimistic) comment that perhaps the new Pope won't be so bad — if nothing else, he also loves cats.

Welcome everyone to my little corner of the world. I've lit a few more candles so it's not quite as dark as usual for all of my guests tonight. I know it's a little cramped, oubliettes aren't really made for entertaining, but we'll manage...
